How to integrate google hosted emails in Vision Helpdesk?

In order to get the emails into the helpdesk the email queue is set. If the official email address of the company is visionhelpdesk@gmail.com and if you would like the support desk to download the emails from the same email address then this email address visionhelpdesk@gmail.com should be used as the email address in an email queue. Now whenever the mail appears at visionhelpdesk@gmail.com then it can be fetched by the support desk and can be converted into tickets.

Settings in the gmail account:

In order to integrate google hosted emails it is necessary to enable IMAP and POP so that the mails can be retrieved easily.

Settings by the Admin for the email queue:

The settings related to the email queue can be set from the Email section:

Settings >> Email Section >>Email Queue >> (Add email queue)


If the fetch type selected is POP3 SSL:


Hostname - The hostname if POP3 SSL is selected is pop.gmail.com
Port - The Port is 995
Username - The username for the gmail account needs to be mentioned here
Password - The password for the gmail account should be mentioned here

If the fetch type selected is IMAP SSL:

Hostname - The hostname if IMAP SSL is selected is imap.gmail.com
Port -
The Port is 993
Username -
The username for the gmail account needs to be mentioned here
Password - The password for the gmail account should be mentioned here

Setting up cron – job to fetch emails:

If POP3 | POP3SSL | POP3TLS | IMAP | IMAP SSL | IMAP TLS is the method that is selected then it is necessary to set up the cron job or scheduler on your server in order to fetch the emails.
As recommended by us the cron job that is to be set is for every 5 minutes.
