Release Management

It is useful for planning, designing, building and testing of hardware and software releases in order to define the set of release components.

Mass Action on Releases:

It is possible to select either of the release or more than one release with the help of checklist and to perform the desired action on them.

Move to:

Releases can be moved from one department to another belonging to the same domain through mass action.

Release type:

It is possible to select one release or more than one release and change the type of the release.

Priority:

It is possible to select one release or more than one release and change the priority of the release.

Status:

It is possible to select one release or more than one release and change the status of the release.

Search releases:

Releases can be searched by entering the release hash or the subject of the release by Search option that is present at the top.

Release filters:

All the releases get sorted by Open, Closed and Assigned statuses along with their count.

Filter list:

Filter list is used to provide more efficient and effective searches. When you enter filter terms in search box and when filter is applied then the particular list appears according to the filter that is applied.

Apply filter:

When all the details regarding the filter are filled then filter can be applied for the particular list of releases. Depending upon the terms that are filled for the filter to be applied the list appears for the filters.

Create Release:

New >> Release

Select the department from the drop down for which the particular release is to be created.

From:

The email of the staff that is opening a new release will be specified here.

Subject:

The subject of the release is to be specified here.

Description:

A short description of the release is to be specified here.

Planned start date:

The planned start date for the release is to be specified here.

Planned end date:

The planned end date for the release is to be specified here.

Status:

The status for the particular release is to be selected from the drop down.

Priority:

The priority for the particular release is to be selected from the drop down.

Release type:

Release type is to be selected from the drop down.

Assigned to:

The staff agent to which a particular release is to be assigned is to be selected. By default the release is assigned to Nobody.

Attach CI:

CI can be attached to a release using this option.

Attach file:

Attachment can be done for the release using this option.

Action on Releases:

Properties:

The subject and email for the release can be changed from here.

Add note:

A note can be added for the particular release from here for a better understanding for the agents.

Update Release:

It is possible to edit or update a particular release by selecting it from the listing.

Release details:

All the details of the release will be listed here.

It is possible to link CI, Change and Tasks with the given release which is present at the bottom of the release details.

Approvals:

The releases can be created and requested for the approvals from the staff. (CAB- Change Advisory Board)

Audit log:

All the activities carried out on the release will be listed here.

Notes:

The notes for the releases will be listed here.

Description:

A short description for the release can be entered here.

Build plan:

One is able to add build plan for the release from Add new option.

Test plan:

One is able to add test plan for the release from Add new option.
