Service Category is added to organize the list of the
services provided and makes it easier for the customers to order them. In order
to add service items, service categories are to be added firstly. Service
Category can be added from:
Settings >> ITIL
section >> Service category
Note: By default there are some categories:
- Hardware
- Software
- User management
- Data service
- Application access
All these service categories cannot be deleted and its
status cannot be changed.
Mass Action on
Service category:
It is possible to select either of the service categories
with the help of checklist and to perform the desired action on them. Service
category can be either enabled or disabled.
Any service category can be deleted using the delete option
except that of default service categories.
Filter List:
Filter list is used to provide more efficient and effective
searches. When you enter filter terms in search box and when filter is applied
then the particular list appears according to the filter that is applied.
Apply Filter:
When all the details regarding the filter are filled then
filter can be applied for the particular list of service categories.
Depending upon the terms that are filled for the filter to be applied the list
appears for the filters.
Add Service category:
Additional service categories can be added using the Add
option. When you click on Add you will have the following fields:
Domain access:
It consists of domains that will have access to particular
service category. It is also possible to select all the domains using
All domains option.
Name:
The name for the service category is to be specified here.
Description:
A short description of the service category is to be
specified here.
Status:
The status for the Service category can be either enabled or
disabled from here.
Update Service category:
It is possible to edit or update a particular service
category by selecting it from the listing. The changes can be made and it can
be updated from the Update option present at the bottom.
