Asset state

It will display the present state of the asset. It is the important property as it will affect the availability of the CI.

Settings >> ITIL section >> Asset state

Note: By default there are five asset states:

  • In use: The CI is used by somebody in the team.
  • In transit: The CI is being moved.
  • In stock: The CI is available in stock and is readily available for use.
  • Missing: The particular CI is missing and cannot be used.
  • Retired: The particular CI is not functional and it has been retired.
In use asset state cannot be deleted and its status cannot be changed.

Mass Action Asset state:

It is possible to select either of the asset state and more than one asset states with the help of checklist and perform the desired action on them. Asset states can be either enabled or disabled.

Any asset state can be deleted using the delete option except In use asset state.

Filter List:

Filter list is used to provide more efficient and effective searches. When you enter filter terms in the search box and when filter is applied then the particular list appears according to the filter that is applied.

Apply Filter:

When all the details regarding the filter are filled then the filter can be applied for particular list of Asset state. Depending upon the terms that are filled for the filter to be applied the list appears for the filters.

Add Asset state:

Additional asset state can be added using the Add option. When you click on Add you will have the following fields:

Name:

The name for the asset state is to be specified here.

Description:

A short description about the asset state can be mentioned here.

Display order:

If there are many asset states available then the listing for the asset state can be done from the Display order. Asset states get sorted as per the display order that is specified.

Department access:

It consists of the departments that will have the access to the particular asset state. More than one department can be selected at a time using All Departments option.

Language translation for asset state:

If the language in the Manage portal is been translated into some other language and one wishes to translate the asset state in that language then the translation name for the asset state can be added from here.

Status:

It is possible to enable or disable a particular asset state. If the asset state is disabled then it will not be used by the system.

Update Asset state:

It is possible to edit or update a particular asset state by selecting it from the listing. The changes can be made and it can be updated from the Update option present at the bottom.
