7. Billing

Billing rate

The method that is used for billing can be either based on Incident or time. If the billing method is based on billing per Incident, the balance will be deducted from the clients account per Incident submission. In time base the billing method is based on billing per time, the balance will be deducted from the client account as per the time taken to resolve the Incident.

Domain: The particular domain for which the billing rate are to be set is to be selected from the drop down.

Domain :

Title: Here you can specify the name for the billing rate.

Billing Method:

  1. Incident base.
  2. Time base.

Incident base

Bill rate (USD): Here you can specify the billing rate you want to charge your client per Incident .Default currency is USD. The settings for the currency can also be made through the domain settings.

Time base

Bill rate (USD): Here you can specify the billing rate you want to charge your client as per time spent.Default currency is USD. The settings for the currency can also be made through the domain settings.

Minutes - Here you can define the number of minutes upon which the bill rate would be applied.

For example if You add $10 USD in bill rate and 60 minutes in Minutes field then if time spent on Incident is 120 , billing for client would be $20 USD.

Packages

The packages will allow the client for buying the service for certain period to avoid payment process for each request. Here you can create and edit the various packages by filling the details of the fields given.

Add packages

Domain: The particular domain to which the package belongs is to be selected from the drop down.

Title: The name or title of the package is to be entered here.

Description: The description about the package can be entered here.

Display order: If there are many packages available then the display order will decide the sequence it should appear in the listing.

Billing cycle: It specifies the validity of the particular product. It can be either of these : one time, monthly, quarterly, semi annually or annually.

Credit type: It specifies the type of the credit which is required for the particular product. It can be either time credit or Incident credit.

Time credit : In case you want to provide time based credit to your client ,you can create time based package.

- Here you can add time in days ,hours and minutes and price you want to add for this particular package.

Incident credit: In case you want to provide Incident based credit to your client ,you can create Incident based package where clients would be able to submit Incident until they have Incident credit their account based on package they have purchased.

- Here you can add number of Incidents and price you want to add for this particular package.

Status: It is possible to enable or disable a particular package. If any of the packages is disabled then it will not be used by the system.

Payment gateway

If you are using the billing module for the support then you will be in need of the payment gateway to select the mode of making the payment. The settings related to payment gateway can be done from here.

Domain: The particular domain for which the payment gateway settings are to be done is to be selected from the drop down.

Payment gateway: You can select either of the payment gateways given below:

1) PayPal: PayPal is the service that enables to pay, transferring money and accept payments without revealing any of the financial details.

If PayPal is selected then it will consist of the following field:

Email: This field is for the email id used for the PayPal account.

2) Authorize.net: Authorize.net is a payment gateway service provider allowing merchants to accept credit card and electronic check payments through Web site and over an IP (Internet Protocol) connection.

Steps for acquiring the keys:

Step 1: Login to your Authorize.net account.

Step 2: In the landing page on left panel select the setting in account section.

Step 3: In security setting settings go to general security settings.

Step 4: Click on API login ID and Transaction key where you can view and copy paste the keys.

API login ID: API login ID for the authorize.net is to be mentioned here.

Transaction key: The transaction key for authorize.net is to be mentioned here.

Gateway mode: The mode for the payment gateway can be selected from the drop down. There are two modes test and live.

Test: If selected then it will only search the transaction processed in the test mode.

Live: If selected then it will only search the transaction processed under the live mode.

3) Stripe: Stripe is a technology company that allows both private individuals and businesses to accept payments over the internet. It focuses on providing the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate online payment systems.

Note: You can get these key after login to your stripe account>>your account.

Secret key: You have to enter the secret key for your stripe payment gateway.

Publishable key: If you want to use the stripe payment gateway you have to enter the publishable key.

Gateway mode: The mode for the payment gateway can be selected from the drop down. There are two modes test and live.

Test: If selected then it will only search the transaction processed in the test mode.

Live: If selected then it will only search the transaction processed under the live mode.

Tax rule

In your billing module you are able to add different taxes according to the different rates you have included. All the settings related to the tax can be done from here.

Add tax rule

Domain: The particular domain for which the tax rule is added is to be selected from here.

Title: The title for the tax rule is to be specified here.

Rate (%): The rate for the tax should be specified here which is present in terms of percentage.

Display order: The order in which the tax rule will be displayed in the listing will be decided by the display order.

Status: It is possible to enable or disable a particular tax rule. If any of the tax rules are disabled then it will not be used by the system.
